Superstition Mountain Branch – Apache Junction

About this Club

The Superstition Mountain Branch offers an after school program, teen leadership, youth sports leagues, homework, and tutoring assistance. Nestled in the shadows of the Superstition Mountains and adjacent to the Tonto National Forest, Apache Junction is a wonderful location to commune with nature, enjoy the surroundings, and raise a family. The club here was founded in August 1994 by a group of citizens under the leadership of City Council Member Grace Hagner. In April 1998, the Boys & Girls Club of Apache Junction merged with Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley. Recently the name was changed in April 2016 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley - Superstition Mountain Branch to better reflect the areas that we serve. The town is east in the Phoenix-Mesa Metropolitan area just inside Pinal County and was incorporated in 1978.

Steeped in history, Apache Junction has been the focus of many people searching for gold and the "Lost Dutchman Gold Mine." It has been the supply center used for the creation of the Apache Trail and The Theodore Roosevelt Dam. The Salt River Canyon, Salt River, Roosevelt Lake, Canyon Lake, and Apache Lake are all close to this recreation area. Lost Dutchman State Park, established in 1977 and Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park, established in 1976, are within 5 to 28 miles of town.

The Club is open 241 days a year and serves an average of 135 youth daily. The Club provides help to working families, single parents, and grandparents raising their grandchildren. Scholarships are provided to those in need. The staff members are involved with the community and want to help your children grow with an understanding of Character - Leadership, Education - Careers, Health - Life Skills, Sports, Fitness, Recreation, and the Arts.

Register below or in the Club for the school year! If you are a new member, your registration will have to be approved by Club staff (typically within 48 hours) before it can be completed. If you have additional questions, please contact a Branch Assistant.
