BGC EV - Privacy Policy

BGCEV & MAA Privacy Policy (Effective Sept. 6, 2018)

This site is provided by Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley and Mesa Arts Academy is committed to complying fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998.  BGCEV and MAA does not intend to collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Our information collection practices are described below. While we encourage children to visit our site and learn more about our programs, we recommend, however, that parents approve and closely supervise the activity of their children at this and all other online sites. We urge children to check with their parents before entering information on any website and we urge parents to discuss with their children restrictions regarding the online release of personal information to anyone they don't know.

The Information BGCEV & MAA Collects

We respect your privacy as our online guest, and we will not collect any identifying or personal information about you while you are here except as set forth in this Privacy Policy.
BGCEV and MAA collects information in several ways from different parts of this site. BGCEV and MAA may collect personal information from you when you register with this site.  BGCEV and MAA also may ask you for personal information at other times, such as when you ask a question or report a problem with this site. If you contact BGCEV and/or MAA, we may keep a record of that session or correspondence, including a record of your e-mail address. BGCEV and MAA may also occasionally ask users to complete surveys for research purposes. BGCEV and/or MAA may provide the information it collects through this site to BGCEV and/or MAA's business partners, and to third parties who provide services on BGCEV and/or MAA's behalf. Integrity and Security

Not selling your information – BGCEV and/or MAA will not sell, trade, rent or exchange its donor list and donor's personal information with any other organization. From time to time BGCEV and/or MAA will share donor or prospective donor information with Clubs to ensure collaborative efforts. If an individual requests that information be shared with a Club, the BGCEV and/or MAA will comply with their wishes.

Use of SSL and encryption – When BGCEV and/or MAA transfers and receives certain types of sensitive information such as online donations and account information, we direct visitors to a secure server, which communicates via SSL encryption and which has been designed to reduce the possibility of interception and hacking. You’ll know that you’re in a secure area of our website when the "http" portion of the BGCEV and/or MAA website address in your browser changes to "https." The "s" stands for "secure."

Restricting who has access to your information – BGCEV and/or MAA takes precautions to ensure that your personal information is accessible only to authorized individuals, whom are required to comply with our privacy policy.

BGCEV and/or MAA employs commercially reasonable managerial and technical measures to help protect the security and integrity of the personal information it collects online through this site. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
