The four steps to becoming a BGCAZ Club Volunteer include:
- Creating a Volunteer Hub account at www.volunteerhub.com
- Scheduling a volunteer interview. Contact Volunteer Services for assistance.
- Passing BGCAZ’s required background check – no cost to volunteers for this online process. The link is provided through Volunteer Hub.
- Complete volunteer orientation. Register through Volunteer Hub or through Volunteer Services for this 50-minute virtual session offered at various times throughout the month.
Note that each step needs to be completed before volunteering in a Club.

Corporate Volunteers
Get your co-workers in on the fun! Encourage your fellow colleagues to volunteer their time and give back to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley. Working together with your team boosts productivity and increases employee engagement. That's a win-win!
Your team could host a cooking class, make ornaments or holiday gifts, or run a field day with the kids while offering your group a meaningful and fun team building!
Corporate volunteers are guests in our Clubs and are supervised by our trained staff. For one time activations, visitors do not need to be trained Volunteers.
Corporations and groups can also volunteer on weekends when the Clubs are closed and complete Club cleaning or renovation projects.
We can also help your company create a Toy Drive or Special Campaign in your office that culminates with a Club visit. The opportunities to support our Club kids are endless and we can help you create something memorable for your team!
CONNECT, a volunteer group for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley is committed to providing support to the BGCAZ and the thousands of kids they serve. CONNECT is responsible for coordinating fundraising activities and helping improve the lives of our community's kids. To learn more about joining, please get in touch.
Our Alumni members assist in fundraising and development through promotional events as well as assisting in service projects. For more information, please contact our Volunteer Services Manager.
3. Service Enterprise Certification
BGCAZ has proudly earned the Service Enterprise certification through Points of Light in partnership with the Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement and ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. Service Enterprise accreditation is recognized by the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family. The Service Enterprise Initiative helps organizations leverage the power of skilled volunteering to move their missions forward. To certify, the organization completes a comprehensive assessment, training and coaching. Organizations recertify every three years.
