Selected among 13 outstanding youth, Cyrus Martinez has been named the Youth of the Year by Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix. The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle. The Youth of the Year program honors our nation’s most awe-inspiring young people on their path to great futures and encourages all kids to lead, succeed and inspire.

After serving the youth and families of the Tolleson community for 30 years, the City of Tolleson has decided to close the Woodrow C. Scoutten/Tolleson Branch of the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Phoenix. This news came as both a surprise and disappointment to us. We were not included in their decision process and we were formally told of their plans on February 8th in a meeting with the City Manager and Assistant City Manager that we requested.

Members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix (BGCMP) are ready to launch into space with the visit of a Dr. Dante Lauretta of the University of Arizona. The principal investigator of an asteroid mission will be joined by an astronomer for a night of space exploration at the Swift Kids Branch.

Valley children in need have something to smile about this holiday season: The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation is providing $750,000 to fund a dental clinic and teen center with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix announces the introduction of the National Photography Program, sponsored by Sony Electronics Inc. The Program teaches youth the art and science of photography, and it includes Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA)’s.

A group of Glendale Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix (BGCMP) members are learning teamwork through cheerleading, thanks to a grant from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Buffalo Wild Wings.
